News Master Scroller for Joomla and maybe Mambo is a rewrite of the NewsFlash Scroller Pro module. It's currently in the beginning stage of development, but already has more flexibility than its sister, NewsFlash Scroller Pro.

Just a few features of News Master Scroller (NMS):

  1. NMS provides an option to scroll content sections and categories with a couple clicks of a button. You'll be able to scroll any section or category with this module, and modify the content display without changes to your template's css file. This option is limited, but should offer enough control for the general user.

  2. NMS can be adjusted to fit almost any module position with the aide of the Width [NMSWidth] and Height [NMSHeight] parameters.

The NMSWidth parameter allows control for fixed width pixel sizing from 25px to 640px or percentage based sizing from 30% to 100%.

  3. NMS allows looping from 1 to 25 times or continuously with the help of the NMSLoop parameter.

  4. NMS can display items in a variety of useful ways, such as: newest, oldest, by ordered, created, most popular, least popular or random and can be sorted on Ascending or Descending order.

  5. NMS offers easy control over how much of each content item you would like displayed by using the NMSShowContent parameter. The options for the NMSShowContent parameter includes: Intros Only, Content Only, Intros and Content or Titles Only

Additional control over content display can be achieved with the aide of parameters like: NMSTextCutoff, NMSUseDetailsLink, NMSUseLinkedTitles for amount of characters per content item and css title control using NMSCSSTitle_Size, NMSCSSTitle_Weight and others for easy css modifictions to all displayed content item titles

  6. NMS includes parameters to adjust the speed at which content items scroll. With the NMSBehavior, NMSScrollDelay and NMSScrollAmount parameters you have a great deal of control on how fast or slow you would like to scroll displayed items.

  7. NMS can be adjusted to return 1 - 100 content items or all with the aide of NMSItemCount parameter.

  8. There are several more options that come with News Master Scroller [NMS] and more will be included over time.

Notes:

  • NMS is new in design and concept; I hope NMS offers more flexibility and ease of use for you than NFSP did.

  • All modifications are done on copies of your content.
